New Caledonia: power plant order

Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. has won a USD 120 million order to build a power plant in New Caledonia. The 270MW power plant will be constructed in Koniambo, 350km NW of Noumea, the capital city of New Caledonia. Electricity produced at the power plant will be provided to a nickel mine currently being developed in Koniambo. Doosan Heavy is to complete the installation of equipment such as circulating fluidized bed boilers and turbines by July 2012.
