Natural gas exploitations in Pakistan

Moravske Naftove Doly (MND) (Hodonin, Czech Republic), petroleum exploitation company, is to begin exploiting natural gas in Pakistan in 2002. The exploitation will be possible due to MND’s 10% share in the Sawan deposit in Pakistan. MND has signed an agreement with the petroleum company OMV (Austria) to participate in the second stage of the deposit’s development. The development will be done by the joint venture South West Miano (SWM) headed by OMV and also owned by Agip (Italy), Pakistan Petroleum (Pakistan) and Government Holding Private (Pakistan). SWM will invest USD 130 million in the second development stage, having invested USD 170 million in the opening of the deposit so far.
