NAS orders KOCKS RSB® 370++/6 for Ghent rolling mill

North American Stainless (NAS), a leading producer of stainless steel and specialty alloys based in Ghent, Kentucky, has placed an order with KOCKS for a Reducing & Sizing Block (RSB® 370++/6) in the latest 5.0 design.

The RSB® 370++/6 will be integrated into NAS’s existing rolling mill as a finishing block, enabling the company to roll straight and coiled SBQ bars in both round and hexagonal dimensions—all within a single block.

The scope of supply includes KOCKS Blue Box® water cooling lines, the Microstructure Simulator for thermomechanical rolling, and the 4D EAGLE S system combined with the Size Control System and remote control for automatic stand and guide adjustments, ensuring precise closed-loop quality. Shears, electric systems, and automation are also included.

NAS selected the RSB® 370++/6 for its comprehensive production capabilities and ease of operation. The new equipment is expected to enhance productivity, operational excellence, and flexibility to meet evolving customer and market requirements. Commissioning is planned for Q3 2026.
