NAS celebrates 1-year mark of Ghent facility expansion

North American Stainless (NAS) marked the first anniversary of the USD 244M expansion at its Ghent facility, heralding the addition of 70 new jobs and a significant capacity boost. With its sprawling 4.4 million-square-foot site in Carroll County, NAS stands as the largest fully integrated stainless steel producer in the United States. Offering a comprehensive array of stainless flat and long products, including slabs, billets, plate, sheet, strip, wire, rods, angles, and rebar, NAS continues to solidify its position as an industry leader. The expansion initiative entails the implementation of a new cold rolling mill, roll grinders, and temper mill, alongside substantial upgrades to its annealing and picking lines to accommodate the new rolling mill. Additionally, the Melt Shop Building will undergo expansion as part of the project. NAS is on track to conclude the expansion endeavor by the conclusion of 2025, further reinforcing its stature in the stainless steel manufacturing landscape.
