AGL Resources has appointed Angela M. Nagy as vice president and controller. In her new role, Nagy will be responsible for the corporate general accounting, financial reporting and retail operations accounting functions of AGL Resources. Coming from Mirant Corporation where she served as VP and controller, Nagy brings extensive accounting and energy sector experience to AGL Resources. She also maintained other roles at Mirant Corporation including Assistant Controller; director, Corporate Accounting and Reporting; and controller of its energy trading and marketing subsidiary. Before joining Mirant Corporation, Nagy spent several years with Arthur Andersen LLP in the Atlanta assurance practice. In October 2010 she was named one of corporate America’s outstanding finance executives under the age of 40 by Treasury & Risk magazine. Nagy holds a master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University; she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor degree in Accountancy. Nagy also holds a bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Oklahoma and is a Certified Public Accountant.
