Mukand Limited Partners with Amplus Phoenix Energy

Mukand Limited, a prominent member of the Bajaj group and a leading manufacturer of Alloy and Stainless-Steel long products, has forged a pioneering Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Amplus Phoenix Energy Pvt Limited (APEPL), a PETRONAS Group entity. This landmark collaboration signifies a significant leap towards promoting clean energy solutions and sustainable practices in the steel manufacturing industry.

The agreement entails the establishment of a 23.89 MWp Group Captive Solar project in the picturesque Hulkoti village, located in the Gadag district of Karnataka. This initiative epitomizes Mukand Limited’s steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship and energy efficiency. Anticipated to produce 36 MUs annually, the solar project aims to mitigate approximately 28,440 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

Partnering with APEPL underscores Mukand’s resolve to curbing its carbon footprint and embracing non-conventional energy solutions. Scheduled for commissioning by March 2024, the solar power plant adheres to stringent quality standards, ensuring reliability and operational excellence. The objective is to cater to Mukand Limited’s escalating energy needs while advancing towards greener steel manufacturing processes and production.

APEPL will oversee the construction, operation, and maintenance of the group captive solar power plant. Mr. Shashibhushan Upadhyay, President of Mukand Limited, expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts between Amplus Phoenix Renewables and Mukand Limited. He emphasized, “This partnership aligns with our mission to procure clean energy to power our manufacturing operations and aids us in fulfilling our climate change commitments.”
