MTI Awards Materials Engineering Scholarship

MTI has awarded University of Cincinnati student David Cole with its second annual Bert Krisher Memorial Scholarship. The USD 10,000 Materials Engineering and Science Scholarship will apply directly to Mr Cole’s educational costs. A third-year student in Cincinnati’s 5-year program, he plans to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering in 2011. Mr Cole was selected for the scholarship based on his academic record, engineering-related extra curricular activities, recommendations, and a 500-word essay among other criteria. MTI Representative Hira Ahluwalia (Nickel Institute), Robert Sinko (Eastman Chemical), and MTI Executive Director Jim Macki recently presented Cole with the award at NACE’s annual Corrosion 2009 Conference & Expo in Atlanta, Georgia.
