MPI appoints Janice Munday as Chair and Chris Oswin as CEO

The Materials Processing Institute (MPI) has announced two senior leadership appointments. Janice Munday CBE has been named Chair, and Chris Oswin has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Janice Munday, a former Director of Advanced Manufacturing at the UK Department for Business and Trade, has championed manufacturing, innovation, and diversity across public and private sectors for over 20 years. She has served as a Non-Executive Director at MPI since 2022 and has worked across 20 sectors to strengthen UK supply chains, secure R&D investment, and expand apprenticeships. Munday is also a King’s Ambassador for Industrial Cadets, promoting STEM careers to young people.

Chris Oswin brings more than a decade of experience at MPI, having held senior roles including Chief Operating Officer, Commercial Director, and Manager of the Digital Technologies Group. He also leads the PRISM programme and has driven projects in digital twins, machine learning, low-carbon materials, process modelling, and industrial by-product recycling. Oswin has strengthened strategic partnerships across industry, academia, and government, positioning MPI for continued innovation and growth.
