Mill Steel opens new steel service centre

Mill Steel Company opened its operations in Jeffersonville, IN at the Port of Indiana-Jeffersonville. This 225,000ft2 investment will house two slitting lines in addition to a cut-to-length line, which will add to the company’s service capabilities.

Mill Steel’s new Jeffersonville facility will be operational in June 2014. The facility is projected to bring a capital investment of USD 16.1M to Jeffersonville and an estimated 43 new full-time positions to the region. The company has been targeting this region for the past few years selling aggressively priced material and programs. Accordingly, they will begin production right away with a full shift already sold with existing business.

“We are very excited by the opportunity to locate in Jeffersonville, which we feel is an outstanding complement to our existing steel service centre processing locations of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Melvindale (Detroit), Michigan; and Birmingham, Alabama”, said David Samrick, CEO of Mill Steel. “We felt it was absolutely critical to position ourselves at a location that will enable us to continue our delivery of outstanding just-in-time services to our growing automotive, construction, appliance and general manufacturing sectors.”
