Metso modernisation drive

Stora Enso will replace its pulper and cutter at the Kemijarvi mill as part of a modernisation drive. Metso Paper will supply the project and revamp the mill’s existing cylinder dryer.

Stora Enso said the aim of the upgrade is simply to replace ageing equipment. The mill’s 230,000 air dried tonnes per year pulp capacity will not be affected by the modernisation. Kemijarvi’s pulp line is expected to be shut down for one week while the upgrade takes place, with start up scheduled for the end of October this year.
