Metalloinvest launches a new crushing plant

Metalloinvest completed a major project as part of its investment programme with the launch of a mobile crushing and sorting plant at Lebedinsky GOK (part of Metalloinvest). The mobile plant was produced by Finnish company Metso Minerals.

Industrial tests for the production of fractional crushed stone from a range of materials have been completed, and the crushing and sorting plant’s products meet all of the necessary quality requirements. Alexey Mikhailov, Head of crushing and sorting plant at Lebedinsky GOK commented: “The modern complex that we have launched is very compact; its measures are 80m x 70m. Its production capacity exceeds two million tonnes of crushed stone annually.”

One of the complex’s competitive advantages is its mobility. The equipment is connected to the conveyor belts and is mounted on a base comprising several automobile chassis. Human involvement in the process is kept to a minimum. In case of emergencies, the control system stops all working processes, minimising risk factors. The new plant also has an efficient dust control system. It uses dust filters, closed conveyors and water sprinklers in the finished products warehouse.
