Merchant generation expansion

DPL Inc. has announced Phase Six of its merchant generation expansion programme. This phase consists of two 80mt General Electric combustion turbine peaking generating units and represents an investment of USD 55 million. These 160mw will be located at DPL’s Darby Station, SW of Columbus, Ohio, and are scheduled to be online for the 2002 summer peaking season. DPL has received all state and regulatory approvals for the project. The project is being developed and managed by DPL Energy, an unregulated subsidiary of DPL focused on merchant generation expansion.
