Marc Ferracci visits the Fos-sur-Mer plant

The French Minister for Industry and Energy, Marc Ferracci, together with a delegation of local authorities, visited the Marcegaglia Fos-sur-Mer plant recently, accompanied by President Antonio Marcegaglia.

During the visit, the Minister was able to see first-hand the projects underway to relaunch and modernize the plant, strengthening its competitiveness and sustainability. Projects that President Antonio Marcegaglia himself had the opportunity to illustrate to Minister Ferracci, underlining the strategic importance that the Fos-sur-Mer site has for the industrial dynamics of the Group.

The Marcegaglia Group acquired the site in June last year and is planning a total investment of EUR 750M, with the aim of integrating its entire value chain. The relaunch includes the creation of 380 new jobs, safeguarding the 320 existing ones, and confirming the Mantua-based steel group’s commitment to local economic development and sustainability. The significant industrial transformation project and the innovative technologies used will make the plant one of the first electrified steel production sites in Europe, allowing a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
