Magnetic Analysis Corporation is sad to report the recent death of its Chairman, William S. Gould 3rd. Gould succeeded his father, a company founder, as President in 1964, and remained in that role until 2007, when he became Chairman, a position he held until his death. During his tenure, he successfully built the company from a small US-based nondestructive test designer and manufacturer to its current position as a global leader in providing NDT eddy current, ultrasonic and flux leakage systems and services.
In 2016, he was honored by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing for his contributions to the NDT industry through his âknowledge and dedicationâ? for over 50 years. Gould held a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yale, where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.
Over the course of his years as President of MAC®, Gould oversaw the companyâs expansion into worldwide markets along with the development of sophisticated, automated test systems for a broad range of products.
