MACH 2018 is a key focus for M.A. Ford Europe, as the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and is also launching a number of new tooling ranges and key extensions to existing product lines at the show.
At the head of the list is the new ‘XT-9 Series 380’ end mill for high speed machining of Inconel, Titanium, stainless steel and similar difficult to machine materials. Using a nine-flute design to reduce harmonics and the latest ALtima Xtreme AX coating technology with a maximum service temperature of 1100 degrees C, the XT-9 achieves typical cutting speeds of 55 m/min on Inconel and 115 m/min on Titanium in diameters ranging from 8mm to 20mm.
Also being launched in the UK at MACH is the new indexable ‘High Feed Series’ milling ranges from the company’s cost–effective Fordmax range, which incorporates both cylindrical and modular shank end mills for roughing operations on 3D machining and die & mould applications.
