On 25 June 2007, Lyondell Chemical Co. approved Nantong Special Steel Co. Ltd in China as a qualified vendor. A refiner of heavy, high-sulfur crude oil and a significant producer of fuel products, Lyondell is a public company with annual sales of USD 20 billion. The approval was granted based on an extensive onsite mill review by Lyondell’s audit team in May 2007. Nantong’s unsurpassed commitment to quality, experienced and knowledgeable supervisors and workers’ commitment to following procedures helped the mill achieve this honor. The mill is currently offering up to 20in OD for grades 304/L, 316/L, 321/H, 317/L, 310 and 2205 using this hot rolling process. Nantong’s full size range is from 3/8in to 28inOD with cold and hot processes. Alloy grade 2507 can be supplied in sizes up to 10inOD Sch100. The mill’s first USA order of 10in and 12inOD seamless UNS 32205/31803 (2205) will be delivered by the end of August 2007 (in accordance with Dow Specification G8S-4001-51).
