Lovejoy reduces vibrations

Lovejoy has produced a grid coupling that aims to provide a solution against vibration. Excessive vibration is a problem for any type of power transmission system and can lead to expensive repair costs, replacement costs, and valuable time lost on production lines.
The coupling from Lovejoy, made from high tensile alloy steel, utilises a grid spring between two geared hubs to damp harmful vibrations up to 30%. A cover set contains the grease around the grid spring and keeps contaminants out. The grid coupling also has the ability to protect equipment from harmful torque overloads by its design. A torque overload will cause
the grid spring to shear, leaving the two hubs disconnected. The cover set can be removed for easy replacement of the grid member and has a significantly lower replacement cost when compared to bearing and other motor component replacement.
