VM Steel (a.k.a. Van Meerbeeck Export) has announced that Laurent Louvigny has joined as CEO, replacing Sébastien Collart who brought leadership and inspiration to the team over the last three years. Laurent has nearly 20 years of service in the industrial world, working in Europe and Africa with customers in the steel, chemicals, mining, cement, energy and fertilizers industries. After a term as a consultant at McKinsey, Laurent held various senior management positions at Lhoist and Imerys.
His vision is to further reinforce VM Steel’s position as the leading “One Stop Solution” for specialized stainless steel products, and the only European stockist to have a complete range of 904L/1.4539 products (sheets/plates, pipes, flanges and fittings).
Laurent will accelerate the product scope expansion initiated in March, when 904L sheets/plates have been added to the stock. He is now considering additional routes for further expansion.
