France: LNG terminal near Marseille
The Joint Venture formed by Sofregaz (a subsidiary of the Milan-based E&C group Tecnimont), Saipem (an Eni Company) and its subsidiary Technigaz has been awarded by Gas de France a lump sum turn-key contract for the implementation of the new LNG receiving terminal to be located at Fos Cavaou, in the south of France near Marseille. Sofregaz is the leader of the J/V, and its contract value share is approximately EUR 180 million. The scope of the contract includes engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a complete terminal having a regasification capacity of 8.25 billion Nm3/y, three LNG tanks for a total 330,000 cubic metres storage capacity, marine facilities and all related infrastructures and utilities.
