LNG project for UK can go ahead

UK energy infrastructure company National Grid Transco has obtained planning consent for its liquefied natural gas terminal project in southern England, Chief Executive Roger Urwin has said. He added that the company is currently beginning “preliminary civil work” on the site. The Isle of Grain LNG terminal is expected to begin operation in “late 2005 or early 2006,” said Steve Holliday, National Grid Transco’s head of UK gas distribution and business services.
