Abbot Group’s wholly owned subsidiary KCA Drilling has received confirmation of a contract with Elf Petroleum Iran, a subsidiary of TotalFinaElf, appointing KCA as the onshore drilling contractor for the Dorood Field development on Kharg Island in Iran. The contract, which has a duration of three years, is worth USD 50 million. The contract involves the drilling and/or work-over of 28 production related wells onshore Iran using two drilling units, which belong to the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC), with an option over a third unit.
