JSL hikes investment on Orissa project

Stainless steel producer JSL Stainless has undergone a corporate debt restructuring program which has made possible an increased proposed investment on Phase II development of its Orissa plant to INR 6,400 crore.  This is in order to augment annual production capacity to 1 million tonnes.  JSL had originally planned for an 800,000 tonnes per annum output in Orissa, but has added a blast furnace to increase capacity to tap rising demand for its stainless steel alloy in India.  Negotiations with European and Asian suppliers are currently underway.
