Jacobs wins contract for new Alnylam facility

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has recently been awarded a contract to provide engineering services and procurement for Alnylam Pharmaceuticals’ new manufacturing facility in Norton, Massachusetts. Under the terms of the agreement, Jacobs is providing engineering services and procurement for the multi-product facility being built to supply RNA interference-based therapeutics for clinical and commercial needs. Jacobs Senior Vice President Global Life Sciences Robert Norfleet stated, “Partnering with Alnylam on this major development that enables the company to realize its goal of becoming a fully integrated, commercial-stage company is an exciting opportunity. We’re proud Alnylam turned to Jacobs as its design partner, and we look forward to delivering a state- of- the-art facility.â€? The 200,000 square foot facility is expected to be completed in 2018.
