IWEX awards expanded

In recognition of the changing aspects to the industry, the IWEX Innovation Awards are now open to all companies regardless of industry sector. Entries are invited from water authorities, utilities, industrial water users such as pharmaceutical, food and drink or ink manufacturers through to civil engineering companies and suppliers within the water sector. The awards are a celebration of the successes achieved in the water, utility and water-using industries will be the focus of attention of the restyled IWEX Gala Evening, to be held on Wednesday 12th November, in the elegant surroundings of the Imperial Suite of the National Motorcycle Museum, close to the NEC, Birmingham. The IWEX Innovation Awards 2003 cover six specific categories relative to all aspects of operations, marketing and management within both the water and other utility sectors. For 2003 they have been restructured to reflect the changing profile of the industry, in particular including an emphasis on both multi-utility focused businesses and the international scope of many companies. The categories for entry are: best distribution hardware technology; contributions to environment and sustainability; international markets award; most effective monitoring and control system; most innovative and effective multi-utility service; innovative processes technology; and outstanding individual. The seventh award will be the inaugural outstanding individual award that will be awarded to an individual in recognition of his or her service to the industry.
