Alstom has recently been awarded three orders by ENEL for the supply of six generators for hydro power plants at Bussolengo, Gallicano and Rovesca in Italy. The combined value of these orders is approximately EUR 10 million. At Bussolengo, Alstom will replace three existing units, dating back to 1944, with three vertical hydro generators, each rated 20 MVA. At Gallicano, two units will be replaced, also with vertical hydro generators, each rated 15,000 KVA and at the Rovesca hydro power plant, a horizontal hydro generator rated 28 MVA will be supplied. For all three projects, the scope of supply includes design, engineering, erection and commissioning. Spare parts are optional. Alstom’s Hydro Power division in Spain is executing these projects. The equipment will be manufactured in the company’s facilities in Bilbao, Spain, and Birr, Switzerland. All three plants are scheduled to enter commercial operation in mid-2005.
