The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released figures for the first half year of 2018, showing that stainless steel melt shop production increased by 13.3% year–on–year to 26.1 million metric tons.
In Europe, US, China and other Asian countries the production increased by 1.4%, 1.6%, 13.2% and 5.8% respectively. The rest of the world combined registered 68.3% increase in the stainless steel production.
