International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has published new brochures and animations during its thirteenth Annual Conference in Hong Kong. The brochures are: 1) The Ferritic Solution – A continuing success story. Ferritic stainless steels share most of the mechanical and corrosion-resistance properties of their cousins, austenitic stainless steels. However, unlike austenitic stainless, ferritic stainless steels contain no nickel. This makes them a cost effective alternative in many applications. 2) Annual Review – ISSF’s Annual Review contains an overview of the work of the Forum in the past year. This year the publication illustrated with stainless steel buildings that contribute to their urban landscapes. 3) 3rd Book of New Applications – ISSF has published the third edition of our Book of New Applications. The 2009 edition includes examples of more than 60 stainless steel applications from around the world. Projects covered range from the refurbishment of St Mary’s Cathedral in Tokyo to stainless steel mobile phones and industrial PCs. 4). Applications for Stainless Steel Long Products – The non-corrosive properties of stainless steel long products are well known. But stainless long products have many other properties that make them ideal for use in a wide range of environments and applications. This new brochure from ISSF looks at a range of applications that exploit these properties.
