IPP Group has completed a major new investment as part of its ongoing support for the oil and gas, energy and nuclear industries in the UK and around the globe by installing a new Tee Press, a first of its type in Great Britain.
The bespoke press has a 7,000-tonne forming capacity and can make duplex, super duplex, nickel alloy and all stainless materials, thin and thick wall tees from seamless or seam welded pipe and hollows and produce 20-inch tees with up to double the efficiency of existing presses.
According to CEO Jared Ayres, it is the latest significant capital investment by IPP Group and a very exciting time for the UK-based company. “Ever since IPP became involved in manufacturing, we have wanted to support our local community workforce and due to continued investment in British expertise and manufacturing, we have been able to initially meet our aim of providing continued employment to our local workforce. This ongoing investment will provide more opportunities for growth within our area, which will lead to further employment opportunities in a manufacturing field.”
The installation project took 18 months from inception to arrival on site. With an overall weight of almost 400 tonnes, it is housed in an extension to the company’s existing 36,000sq ft. manufacturing facility near Barton-under-Needwood in Staffordshire.
The complete construction of the Tee Press build was filmed on time-lapse camera and can be viewed on the company’s website www.ippgrp.com.
