IPP Group acquires SMS

IPP Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of the business and assets of Specialised Machining Services Limited (SMS) effective 16 February 2015.

SMS, based in Deeside have for a number of years been a market leader in the field of precision machining, particularly in subsea applications. SMS prides itself on its success in manufacturing the most complex specification items in a range of different materials, including exotic steels, Titanium and Nickel Alloys and it thrives on higher precision manufacturing that others may prefer to avoid.

The company will now be called IPP Specialised Machining Services Limited and continue to operate from its existing premises in Deeside.

The business has existing synergies with IPP Mardale and other parts of the IPP Group, therefore Chris Daly has been appointed as Managing Director, to lead the company as we consolidate its present position and make continued investments to ensure further growth.
IPP Group CEO – Jared Ayres comments “This is another proud day for IPP, we delight in being able to secure the existing employees in the workforce and provide a secure platform for continued growth. This business will fit hand in glove with our existing needs and enable the IPP Group to expand its manufacturing portfolio”.

The IPP Group is a world leader in the supply of premium-quality pipes, tubes, fittings, flanges and specialist forgings for the gas, petrochemical, oil and nuclear Industries.
