Insulin plant in France expanded

Technip has been awarded, by Novo Nordisk (Denmark), the expansion of its insulin production plant, located at Chartres, 100 km SW of Paris, France. Valued at about EUR 128 million, this expansion project aims at doubling the production capacity of insulin doses and increasing the volume of production of Flexpen, an insulin injection pen of the latest generation. The addition of a new filling line and two assembly and packaging lines will double the production of insulin doses and triple the production of injection pens by 2008. Technip is in charge of the engineering and project management of all the facilities to be expanded: revamping and expansion of the insulin filling unit; new assembly and packaging workshop for the insulin injection pens; the central heating system.
