Impac Infrared has used digital technology to design its new Series 200 digital infrared pyrometers designed with the OEM company in mind. The new infrared pyrometers are of stainless steel construction and can be configured via digital interface. The Series 5 pyrometers have the option of an RS232 or RS485 serial interface to facilitate communications with other process control systems for both data collection, control and pyrometer configuration. The Series 140 pyrometers also have the same serial communication features as the Series 5 pyrometers, but also have the option of an integral Profibus interface. The Series 5 and Series 140 can also be supplied with an integral video camera to enable the process being controlled to be visually monitored.
