Power purchase agreements were signed by Sasan Power Ltd and Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd for their power plants of 4000MW each with 22 distribution companies from 9 states. Coastal Gujarat is building an imported thermal coal-based power plant at Mundra in Gujarat and Sasan is building domestic coal-based power plant at Sasan in Madhya Pradesh. Both the projects are expected online around 2012.
