India: refinery capacity doubled

Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL), India, will double its Visakhapatnam (India) refinery capacity to 300,000 barrels per day in three years and has offered Saudi Aramco a stake in the expanded unit, the company’s chairman said. HPCL has also held ’preliminary talks’ for a stake in the Yanbu refinery in Saudi Arabia. The company plans to build an export-oriented 400,000-bpd refinery in the Red Sea city of Yanbu.
