Hindustan Petroleum Corp. has made plans for setting up product pipelines. The company also plans to expand its Mumbai refinery from 5.5mtpa to 7.9mtpa and its Vizag refinery from 7.5mtpa to 8.4mtpa and later on scale it up further to 15mtpa. Further, the company plans to set up a 1000km long product pipeline from Mundra to Delhi with an initial carrying capacity of 3.5 million tonne, to be later scaled up to 5.5 million tonne, by the second half of 2007. Meanwhile, the company has decided to go ahead with its proposed 9-million-tonne Bhatinda refinery project alone as BP Plc has pulled out and hopes to commission it by 2010.
