India: coal-based thermal plant

Texas-based Texas Power Generation is planning to set up a 1,320 MW coal-based thermal plant in Chhattisgarh, India. The plant will be a part of its plans to invest USD 10 billion in the country over 10 years. The Houston-based company is already engaged in setting up an integrated steel plant in Hyderabad with a 15 MW captive power plant. The company is also studying opportunities in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra for mega power plants proposed by the state governments, with financial support from the Power Finance Corp.
