In 2015, a number of European branches of the German SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH group – including the branches in Zwijndrecht (NL) and Londerzeel (BE) – were taken over by the IMS group (part of Jacquet Metal Service), a European network of special steel distributors. This group now consists of 47 distribution centers in 10 European countries and strengthens its position in Southern and Western Europe even further.
To reflect this also in the Netherlands and Belgium, the company names have recently been changed by January 1st, 2017. IMS Schmolz + Bickenbach Nederland changes into IMS Nederland BV, and IMS Schmolz + Bickenbach Belgium into IMS Belgium NV. The companies, founded respectively in 1954 and 1944, are well-known for delivering high quality products in steel, stainless steel and aluminum and will continue to do so under their new names.
