Hyundai Engineering wins contract from Libya

South Korea’s Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. has won a USD 283 million power plant order from state-run General Electricity Company of Libya on a turn-key basis. Hyundai Engineering will build two steam turbines and four heat recovery steam generators in the existing 660-MW gas turbine power plant located in Zaiwa, 50 km west from Tripoli. The construction, slated to be completed by early 2006, will upgrade the current power plant to a 960-MW combined cycle power plant.
