Holmestrand accident claims life

On the morning of 22 April 2008, a 25yr old man died from the injuries he suffered after being run over by a fork-lift truck in Hydro’s Holmestrand rolling mill south of Oslo, Norway. The fatal accident occurred in the cold rolling mill. The 25yr old man was taken to Ullevål University Hospital in Oslo, but his life could not be saved. The deceased, who lived in Hvittingfoss with cohabitant and child, was an operator in the cold rolling mill who had worked with Hydro for three years. The police and the Labour Inspection Authority were routinely informed. The accident is now subject to police investigation in order to establish the cause.
