HMTL’s Unit III commissioned

Heavy Metal & Tubes Ltd. (HMTL) has recently announced the commissioning of its manufacturing facility, Unit III, for hot finish seamless tubes/pipes in carbon steel and alloy steel.

Unit III has an annual capacity of approximately 75,000MTPA, has already started commercial production, and has executed orders from Indian refineries and export jobs. The facility will feed mother hollows for the company’s existing plant where cold drawn seamless carbon and alloy steel tubes are manufactured.

Upon its commencement, HMTL could potentially be the only company in India that manufactures hot finish tubes for boiler, HRSG, structural, automobiles and other similar applications. Moreover, the plant has two separate full-fledge cold drawing capacity of 24,000MT per annum in seamless carbon/ alloy steel tubes, and a capacity of 7,200MT per annum in stainless steel seamless and welded tubes to cater to various applications for heat exchangers, condensers, economizers, instrumentation, etc.
