High-temperature grade tubing

Sterling Tubes, part of the Sandvik Group, has set up a stock facility for Sterling 310, stainless steel, commercial high temperature grade tubing in order to supply its independent distributor customers. Sterling 310 stainless steel tube is now available in selected sizes between ¼â€? and 6â€? nominal bore, in ANSI pipe sizes and their metric equivalents, from a central stock held at Sandvik Steel’s main manufacturing plant in Sandviken, Sweden. Suitable for high temperature applications, such as muffle tubes, pyrometer sheathing or in high temperature oxidation furnaces, Sterling 310 is a 25% chromium, 20% nickel austenitic stainless steel with good oxidation resistance. It is supplied in accordance with US ASTM and ASME and the French NFA 117 standards and offers better high-temperature performance and a longer life than traditional 18% chromium stainless steels. The new facility enables Sterling Tubes to maintain a high level of service to those distributor customers, who specialise in high temperature steels, by supplying bundle quantities of Sterling 310 tubes from stock. It means that Sterling Tubes is continuing to develop its role as the principle supplier of tube, pipe and hollow bar to the independent distributor market.
