High ranking for Posco

Posco Chairman and CEO Sang-Boo Yoo has been recognised for his exemplary work in a recent survey conducted by the Korea Economic Daily. The publication recently released results of a questionnaire which surveyed 12 representatives from multinational consulting firms with domestic offices in Korea, and four representatives of mid-level Korean consulting firms. Survey results also stated that Posco, along with Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom, and Hyundai Motor Co., were the companies that attracted the most public attention this year. In a separate report, Nikkei Business, the leading economic weekly in Japan, recently ranked Posco 207th out of the world’s top 1000 firms. The ranking, a joint effort between Nikkei Business and US based Morgan Stanley Capital International ranked Exxon Mobile, the largest petroleum company in the USA, in first place, with General Electric, also based in the USA, placing second. Nippon Steel Corp., which maintains close ties with Posco ranked 260th.
