On 25 September, HEGO Stainless Steel & Aluminium organised an open day to show clients and contacts their warehouse and tell them about their plans for the future.
Established in 1978, HEGO is a family-owned-business located in Almere, the Netherlands. The company is a wholesaler of stainless steel and aluminium, with a large stock of sheets, coils, plates, tubes and long products. In addition to stocking products in standard sizes and finishes, HEGO has its own in-house service centre which enables the company to produce custom shapes, sizes and textures on-site.
During the warehouse tour, visitors could see much of the service equipment in operation. No piece of machinery, however, attracted so much attention as HEGO’s latest acquisition – a decoiler of impressive proportions. Such is its size that it took a professional photographer and a cherry picker to capture it in its entirety.
Besides learning about HEGO, visitors saw three interesting examples of the use of stainless steel and aluminium in art and the automotive industry. A Dutch artist exhibited his sculptures of stainless steel, yet another stand was devoted to a prototype of an electric motorcycle whose frame is made of aluminium supplied by HEGO, whereas the area next to it was occupied by the stainless steel DeLorean car.
The HEGO open day closed with drinks and snacks, creating a relaxed atmosphere for networking and socialising.
