Heat-resistant furnace roller

BUTTING has invented the HeRo® (Heat resisting Roller), made of special alloys such as 602 CA, 601 H or 800 H. Furnace rollers are integral parts of heat treatment plants used for the production of long and flat products in the metal industry. Most of the furnace rollers used hitherto are water-cooled, cause considerable energy and maintenance costs and are not noted for their longevity. The BUTTING HeRo® on the other hand offers a long service life due to its very low tendency to oxidation and minor mechanical wear. This reduces costs, as furnace stand-stills and high maintenance costs are avoided. The energy costs are also decreased, as cooling with water can be dispensed with. After many years in service, such a roller would not be scrapped as before, but its original condition may be restored by selective calibration at BUTTING. Companies like ThyssenKrupp VDM, ALZ and MKM have been using BUTTING HeRo®, which would be designed and produced to suit any specific annealing requirement.
