Harsco adds contract extension for steel mill

Harsco Corporation, a diversified industrial company providing a range of onsite services and engineered products to the global steel, energy and railway sectors, has recently declared the five-year contract extension of its steel mill services in Belgium at the Châtelet site of Aperam, a specialty steel producer with manufacturing operations in Europe and Brazil. The balance of the current contract and the five-year extension are together valued at more than USD 100M in projected revenues over the contract duration.

The extension continues Harsco’s decade-long service at the Châtelet mill, among Aperam’s largest operations and widely considered one of the most efficient stainless steel facilities in Western Europe. Harsco will continue to provide a broad array of core services in support of the mill’s EAF stainless steel production, ranging from onsite scrap yard management and slag transport to the handling and grinding of production slabs from the mill’s continuous caster.
