State-owned Saudi Aramco has awarded US oilfield services firm Halliburton Co. a USD 140 million contract to help develop a main oilfield. The Qatif project is one of two schemes which are meant to build an extra one million barrels per day (bpd) onto the kingdom’s current capacity of 10.5 million over the next few years once decliners at other fields are taken into account. Halliburton said the three-year project would involve well construction, reservoir evaluation and completion services.
