The Greentech Safety Silver award in metal and mining sector has been given to Steel Authority of India Ltd’s Salem Steel Plant (SAIL SSP) for outstanding achievement in safety and fire management. Mr BB Singh ED of SSP received the award from Mr SK Saxena director general, Factory Advice Service and Labor Institute Mumbai at a function held at Goa recently. The aim of the award was to encourage implementation of strategies for improvement in fire and safety standards and to give recognition to the industrial units. The award emphasizes on the duties, responsibilities and concern to save the units from accidents and damage by taking preventive and corrective measures and thereby increase productivity of the firm.
