Göran Björkman, President of Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT), has been appointed as Chairman of the Swedish Association of Industrial Employers (Industriarbetsgivarna in Swedish).
Göran will take over as the new Chairman at a time of challenges and opportunities. The growth rate is generally declining, the social consequences of the corona pandemic are extensive, and both the Swedish and the global economy are in a challenging situation.
It is crucial that the industry is given the right conditions to continue to be a driving force for the Swedish economy. Swedish industry needs cost control and long-term ground rules. Stable and long planning horizons are necessary for the industry’s capital-intensive investments.
Ulf Larsson, President of SCA, was elected the new Vice-Chairman. The other Board of Directors consists of Martin Lindqvist, President and CEO of SSAB; Santhe Dahl, President of VIDA Group; Jan Moström, President of LKAB; Magnus Ohlsson, Cementa AB; Thomas Jansson, owner of Bröderna Jansson Nissavarvet AB, and Lennart Evrell, deputy member.
