Foster Wheeler wins IPL contract

Foster Wheeler Ltd. has announced that its subsidiary, Foster Wheeler Power Group, Inc., has been awarded a contract from Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) to supply and install two selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems for IPL’s coal-fired Petersburg Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 located in Petersburg, Indiana. The contract is valued at approximately USD 126 million. Foster Wheeler will provide engineering, material supply, construction, commissioning and testing for this installation. SCR operation is scheduled to begin in summer 2004. These SCR systems will improve air quality by reducing emissions of smog-producing nitrogen oxides (NOx) by up to 90 percent.
