Flange protectors

James Walker’s new Moorflex flange protectors provide a system to boost the efficiency, safety and life of process industry pipelines with corrosion reduction and easier disassembly of joints. Unprotected annular gaps around the outside diameter of the flange joints allow the ingress of debris and moisture, which reduces sealing efficiency by degrading the gasket or ring joint and corroding the flange faces. Fitting flange protectors prevent this and the resultant hazardous potential. Offered in a range to fit all sizes and ratings of flanges, the re-usable James Walker Moorflex flange protectors allow quick “fit-and-forgetâ€? installation without the need to split or separate the joint. The protector comprises a closed cell sponge rubber liner inside a steel band with a worm drive clip that tightens it into position when wrapped around the outside of the flange in just a matter of minutes. A lubricating nipple allows greasing of the gap between flanges and a small removable plug allows engineers to see when a flange is fully packed. The flange operates at temperatures up to 120C for standard materials.
