Fix Systems to provide custom fixings

Infolink Architecture & Building reported that architects working on the recently completed National Centre for Synchrotron Science in Clayton, Melbourne specified over 3,000 custom-made stainless steel fixings from Fix Systems Architectural Hardware for the installation of polycarbonate translucent panels.

Architects Bates Smart specified the Australian fittings from Fix Systems Architectural range for the installation of polycarbonate translucent panels. These panels use light and colour technology on the façade to reflect its internal functions. Depending on the light, the panels change colour from purple to green.

The National Centre for Synchrotron Science has been designed as a new research and development centre for scientists who are working to find a possible treatment for cancer and Alzheimer’s disease using the advanced third-generation 3GeV light source with its high quality, low-emitting and stable-electron beams.
